1955-2005
- Ardmore Celebrates 50 Year Anniversary
The Ardmore congregation will be celebrating our 50th
anniversary on
Sunday, October 16, 2005. During the morning worship service,
Dr. Dennis Pruett (our first minister) will be speaking.
Special programs and opportunities for fellowship are being
planned for Saturday evening and Sunday morning.
We invite everyone who has been a part of the church
family
over the years to attend. Special efforts are being made
to have as many former ministers as possible to share in the programs.
If you live some distance away, mid-October is a beautiful time of year
to plan a trip to the North Carolina Piedmont.
A special anniversary missions project is underway to
honor
D.J. and Beulah Colter. The goal is to raise $7,000 by October 16
to enable All God's Children mission to build & furnish a house
(the D.J. & Beulah Colter House) for orphaned children in Zimbabwe,
Africa.
If you would like to contribute to this project, checks payable to
Ardmore Christian Church can be designated "Colter House."
Do you have old photos, home movies, videos or other
memorabilia
from the past 50 years at Ardmore? If so,
we would like to borrow them so that copies can be made for a
commemorative collection or for display during the celebration.
We promise to take good care and return them to you.
Additional mailings with more information will follow
during the next several months.
Please mark your calendars now and plan to be with us in October.
We have a designated email address (listed on the photo below)
set up for you to communicate with us about the 50th Anniversary.
Let us know if you have memorabilia that we can borrow. Also,
please provide the names & addresses of family members that you want us
to
send program information. We would also appreciate the
address of any former members that you want to make sure we contact.
Please pray for the success of the 50th Anniversary
Celebration.
We hope that you will share in this special opportunity for homecoming,
worship and thanksgiving.
